Reflection about Miss Representation

The documentary 'Miss Representation' did a great job of portraying how media effects women in many different ways, physically, mentally and emotionally. In my perception true beauty is in the inside and has nothing to do with ones physical appearence. Although in todays times worldly entanglements has made it all about the outside. As for the media, it is often said that the media is to blame for the way women are expected to "look and behave". But, I feel its all about ones self, if you are in control of yourself and your body, then no one but yourself is to blame. Media does exploit the bodies of women but the only way for that to stop is if other women around the world dont follow that "look." Buying clothes that show a lot of skin and appear innappropraite obviously shows that you want to be like those women being shown in movies and the media. Girls, boys, women and men are being influenced in many  wrong ways but one has to be strong and not follow those manners. "Its your mind, body, and soul CONTROL it and appear the way you want to, NOT how others want you to." Respect yourself as then others will respect you in return. I believe that its your own decision of how you want to be treated, and how you want to physically look. Be your own person, why be like every-other person/ women out there?

Interview Recap

So far, this semester has been very successfull for myself  as I'm always trying my best to achieve every goal that I put forth. This leaves me with many proud moments which I learn from and also allow myself to form much more challenging goals.

Proud Moments

During this amazingly active semester I often reflect on a few of my truely proud moments such as the time our class worked out in the weight room, the grouse mountain field trip hike and the commuity run. I found that because I was given proper information as to how to workout my body with the correct type of equiptment, it became fun and not like my other experiences in the weight room! Also, hiking up the grouse mountain during a frame time that I doubted myself  upon, achieving a very quick pase to my standard was very exciting! Just as my recent run around the communtiy also was, I didnt stop at all! That was a HUGE accomplishment for myself. I reflect upon these kinds of events that make me push myself harder to exceed my limits.

Learning Aspect

Physical Education most deffinetley has a highly educational part to it just as much as the physical side. Being around great P.E staff that train my mind to go against my comfort zones in order to experience the gratitude of 'giving it my all' effects me in the most positive way. I have learned to go through physicall pain as the only way to fully reach my goals. Also this type of learning doesnt only aply in P.E but I take this eles where and use it to again only expereince success.

Smester End Goals

As I progress with my dad-day P.E goals I also focus on my long-term goals. Running/Speed/Agility and Endurance are all my main aspects of long-term accomplishments. I know that conquoring this type of a goal takes time and a lot of physical training. I hope that I can build my stamina and speed throughout the rest of the smester. Taking part in activities such as the beep test  shows where my fitness level is, and i simply want to improve the level that I currently stand at.
